Connect to the environment

  1. Click on this link to access the watsonx platform.

  2. Onces the watsonx console is opened, make sure to select the IBM Cloud account where you were invited, and the correct location (Dallas).

Create a watsonx.ai project

  1. From the watsonx.ai console (Home window), click + to the right of Projects to create a new project.

  2. Name the new project as <Your Initials> Prompt Workshop (where <Your Initials> is your name initials [i.e. John Smith would be JS]). Make sure the storage service is automatically selected. Then, click Create.

  3. Next, you will link the Watson Machine Learning service to this watsonx project. To do this, move to the Manage window of the project. Select Services & Integrations and click Associate service +.

  4. On the next screen, select the Watson Machine Learning instance that is provided in this account.

Create a new Prompt session

  1. From the Assets tab, click New asset +.

  2. Select the Prompt lab option.

  3. By default, the chat interface is shown. In this case, we want to do prompt engineering, so go to the Structured tab.

  4. Take a moment to get familiar with the User Interface. Some of the key options are shown in the image below.

Remember to test different models for each exercise to find which works best in each case.

Short story 1 (English)

A little bird chirped as it gathered twigs and bits of moss in its beak, flitting back and forth among the trees. With each trip, its nest took shape, becoming cozier and more inviting. And soon enough, it had created a welcoming home to raise its chicks.

As soon as the two dogs met in the park, their tails started wagging, and they began to playfully jump around each other with joy. Their owners struck up a conversation and soon realized they had much in common, as they shared their love for dogs and the outdoors.

By the end of the day, new friendships had been forged, and both dogs and owners left the park with contented hearts and wagging tails.
