Introduction¶
Abstract¶
One of the most common issues organizations face when they are trying to implement NLP in their business is that it requires the business functions and the technical functions to stand on common ground: both functions need to understand the role they play and what they need to bring to the table.
The objective of this workshop is to create the common ground for the two functions in order to increase the speed of implementation of a NLP services in the organization. By working together on a real use case, they will develop a common understanding of what can be achieved using IBM's NLP services and how/what each function needs to bring to the table.
Learning outcomes¶
At the end of this workshop, both functions will have a common understanding and will have developed a common language to guide them through the process of extracting business insights from your organization's using Watson Discovery Services. They will have learned the basics of Natural Language Processing, the functions available in Watson Discovery and will have used Watson Discovery to get insights from a pre-defined set of documents.

Learning outcomes: At the end of this module, attendees will understand all the different types of data, and the type of functions and queries they can apply to learn the most from the data they are trying to analyze.

Hands on end-to-end use case¶
Learning outcomes: At the end of this module, attendees will be able to apply what they learned in the previous module to extract information from a pre-defined data set. Compete for the fastest deployment (teamwork) and for the most number of conclusions derived through the use of the tool.
