Event Endpoint Management continues to be enhanced

Event Endpoint Management continues to be available and enhanced as part of IBM's integration platforms.

End of Marketing announcement for IBM Event Automation

Event Streams and Event Processing are deprecated and no enhancements will be provided. Support and security fixes will be provided in line with published support lifecycle policies. Future event-driven solutions that make use of Apache Kafka and Apache Flink will be delivered by IBM Confluent.

For more information, see the support lifecycle transition and software ordering completion announcement.

Warnings about clients that use deprecated Kafka APIs

Kafka 4.0.0 and later introduces new APIs and removes support for previous client libraries.

Event Endpoint Management version 11.8.1 uses Kafka 3.9.1 where previous client libraries are supported, but future releases of Event Endpoint Management will use Kafka 4.0.0 or later.

To help users prepare their clients for the move to Kafka 4.0.x, the Event Gateway reports if any clients are calling the deprecated APIs and presents a warning message on the Event Gateways and Subscriptions pages of the Event Endpoint Management UI.

Contact the client application owners and advise them to upgrade their Kafka client library to version 4.0.0 or later to avoid issues with their requests failing when Event Endpoint Management moves to Kafka 4.0.0 or later.
