End of Marketing announcement for IBM Event Automation

Event Streams and Event Processing are deprecated and no enhancements will be provided. Support and security fixes will be provided in line with published support lifecycle policies. Future event-driven solutions that make use of Apache Kafka and Apache Flink will be delivered by IBM Confluent.

Event Streams fails to delete foundational services operand request

Symptoms

When changing the UI authentication from IAM to SCRAM, Event Streams fails to remove foundational services operand request, which are no longer needed. This is more likely to happen when upgrading IBM Cloud Pak for Integration from 2022.2 to 16.1.0, which removes support for using IAM.

Causes

The IBM Cloud Pak foundational services cleanup does not start when the support for IAM is removed.

Resolving the problem

Run the following command to manually delete the foundational services operand request created by Event Streams:

oc delete operandrequest <INSTANCE>-ibm-es-eventstreams -n <NAMESPACE>
